Feb. 2024 - Treating PTSD patients in Ukraine using Agaru VR-Digital Therapeutic technology (VR-DTx)

Dec. 2023 - Economist Impact Report:  From the inclusive internet to the inclusive metaverse: the Inclusive Metaverse Index

 

This paper, written by Economist Impact and supported by Meta, outlines the pilot of a conceptual framework for measuring country-level progress towards a successful metaverse. Economist Impact conducted extensive desk research and an interview programme to develop the framework. We also convened an expert panel to validate and inform it. Blue Helmet Forum

 

Professor Dr. Brenda K Wiederhold has been invited to give a keynote presentation on "Stress Inoculation Training at the Blue Helmet Forum in Austria this October. Dr. Wiederhold has spoken at the Blue Helmet Forum, which was sponsored by the Austrian Association of Peacekeepers and has been dedicated to supporting global assistance for humanitarian, disaster relief, and peacekeeping missions globally for the past 50 years.

Virtual Reality Medical Center published a paper this month, a continuation of the work supported by the U.S. Congress. This Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) evaluated 600 National Guard troops deployed to Afghanistan and identified factors that could predict an increased risk of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) before the mission. We are developing mitigation efforts to prevent PTSD and other serious mental health conditions to improve warfighter resilience. 

Dr. Mark Wiederhold testifies before the U.S. Congressional Committee on Veterans Affairs about new digital therapeutic treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This hearing was instrumental in increasing support for improving the mental health care of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Dr. Brenda Wiederhold led a mission to the Warsaw Medical Institute in Poland to deliver new technology to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in Polish troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dr. Brenda Wiederhold meets with Congresswoman Grace Napolitano of California at a meeting in Washington, DC. Congresswoman Napolitano is Chair of the Hispanic Caucus and has been instrumental in improving effective mental health care treatment programs for underserved communities. 

Dr. Mark D Wiederhold participated in the economic impact analysis commissioned by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense. This Economic Impact Study identifies companies that have successfully transitioned their technology to support the U.S. Department of Defense missions in the National Defense Strategy Pillar:  Force Readiness and Lethality.
